NanoRes Studios builds digital experiences that can recognize what a user owns and respond in real time. By checking on chain whether a wallet holds a specific digital collectible, we can gate access, unlock special features, and tune the experience based on the type and quantity of assets a user has. This turns collectibles into practical access keys for products, communities, and businesses, not just static images in a wallet.
We have already proven this pattern with a Quadratic voting application built for the Daddy BONK community. Access to the voting portal is gated by ownership of the DBONKVE (Daddy BONK Voter’s Edition) digital collectibles. If a connected wallet does not hold any DBONKVE assets, it cannot participate in the vote. Once a wallet passes that gate, the system calculates voting power based on two factors: how many collectibles the wallet owns and the rarity of those collectibles. Common pieces grant fewer votes, rare pieces grant more, and the final voting weight is calculated using a quadratic curve. This approach rewards deeper commitment while reducing the impact of simple token hoarding, giving communities a more nuanced way to govern themselves.
The same technology can power many other gated mechanisms for businesses and communities, for example:
Member Portals and Knowledge Hubs
Only wallets that hold a specific membership collectible can access premium documentation, training material, research reports, or investor dashboards. Higher tier collectibles can unlock additional sections or tools.
Game Features and Special Modes
Games can use ownership checks to unlock exclusive levels, cosmetic sets, boosted rewards, or entire game modes only for holders of a designated collection. Rarity can influence bonus multipliers, drop rates, or access to limited time events.
Ticketing and Events
Digital collectibles can act as verifiable tickets for live or virtual events. Holding a base collectible might get standard entry, while rarer variants unlock VIP lounges, backstage content, or post event drops.
Loyalty and Discounts
E-commerce platforms can gate discounts, loyalty tiers, and early access sales based on collectibles in a customer’s wallet. For example, a bronze, silver, and gold collectible set could map directly to escalating discount rates and perks.
B2B Licensing and SaaS Access
Businesses can issue license collectibles that gate access to dashboards, APIs, or software seats. When a partner’s wallet holds a valid license collectible, the product unlocks. Expired or revoked assets can be recognized instantly.
Creative and Community Tools
Creators can gate access to level editors, content creation tools, or submission portals so only holders can publish UGC into a shared ecosystem. Different collectible types can unlock different creation capabilities.
Under the hood, our stack performs lightweight ownership checks against the target collection, reads traits or rarity where needed, and then exposes that information to the front end. From there, any experience built with our Unity tools or web clients can adapt in real time: show or hide UI, change available actions, and enforce rules in a way that feels seamless to the user.
Gated digital collectibles turn ownership into a dynamic access layer. Whether the goal is fair community governance, premium memberships, or new business models, NanoRes Studios provides the tools to design and launch these gated experiences in a secure and flexible way.
